This past week, a very special person passed on. My wife’s aunt, Sue, ended her journey here on earth. Sue recently celebrated her 95th birthday with her family, which brought her great joy.
Sue was one of the most curious, sensitive, kind, loving, gracious, aware and appreciative people I have been blessed to know. She gave of herself frequently and expected little in return.
She was always the first to point out the good in others. She raised an exceptionally wonderful family and gave each of her children credit for all they had become. She loved sports, especially Michigan State sports, the Patriots and knew the batting averages of most Red Sox players. She was an excellent writer who gave her talents freely to the boards she graced in and around Boston and Bermuda. She loved to travel, loved all the people she encountered and she loved life. She didn’t wait for life to happen to her, she happened to life. She was the perfect example of someone being the very best they could be. She was an inspiration to me and always will be.
In order to make our lives better, we might consider looking at others and life itself as Sue did. She expected to see goodness and found it. Sue’s spirit lives on and gives us reason to celebrate. Thank you, Sue!
