Most, if not all of us, want to get better at what we do. We want to do things faster, easier and in a more competent way. I frequently think of how I simply want to be a better me. I want to be kinder, more understanding, less judgmental and, well the list goes on, if you know what I mean. It can be a daunting task. After all, I’m used to being me with all my quirks and deficiencies. Change can be hard. It’s not that I think I’m a bad person, I’m not. But I do want to be a better me.
Knowing I have things to overcome, I know I’m not going to change overnight. So, my plan is not to…change overnight that is. I plan to take the pressure off and to look for ways to make positive changes each and every day. This I can do. I can also give myself credit each day I make even a small change for the better. I can then see progress and keep the desire to keep it going.
These small changes can make a big difference. I have a long way to go, but I’m going to keep going… slowly. What’s that story about the hare and the turtle racing?
