When we think of trust, we automatically think of who we can trust, followed by what can we trust them with and how much. Of course, it all depends on the circumstances, the people involved and the consequences if the trust is broken. This is all important stuff. But, do we ever ask the trust question of ourselves?

My guess is, we must decide on what things we expect to trust ourselves with. Do we trust ourselves to be honest? Do we trust ourselves to be always truthful? How about being kind, not just some of the time, but always, with everyone? Do we trust ourselves to consistently try to do the right thing? Do we write out our values and trust that what we say and do upholds those values?

If we do this, it’s very much like setting out a life plan that if followed, becomes a plan to succeed in this most important journey we are all on. Trust yourself. Deep down in, you know it is what you really want in your life and who you really are.
